I didn't think that I would paint while I was in Utah, but I saw that I would have enough free time and that it would be worth my time. I bought a watercolor set and some paper. I did some things that I'm really pleased with. Some fruit and wedding flowers. One of my favorite things about the paintings is that I scanned the flowers and printed them to make some custom cards. They are fancy and adorable.

Raleigh, NC Temple
8X10
This was for a wedding. I was really shocked as I went to the reception and the painting was there and on display. When you see your artwork on display, it's like getting a pat on the back. Very flattering. It must mean something.
I was happy with this piece. The gray buildings are sort of hard for me to figure out sometimes. I have been working on a commission of a gray stone tower and it's just tricky to get it right.

Final of House Portrait
I spend a month on this baby. It's 18X24 (I think). I haven't done a painting this larger that is realistic. I did an abstract painting that was large, so this was new. The owner is very happy, and I'm pleased with that. It was a great project and I'm glad that I learned a lot while I did it. Now on to the next project.
Major April Project: House Commission
I've been putting almost all of my efforts into a house portrait. I've been taking my sweet time. I spent a lot of time setting up the composition and trying out colors. I did an 8x10 study of the house to figure some stuff out. This is the study below. When I'm finished with the larger piece, I'll post it.
