Looking back on 2018, and looking forward to 2019

I was digging through my pictures to find this cute commission I did for a client having a baby girl.  These turned out sooooo cute!  My favorite thing is I made some cute baby girl notecards from the painting of the elephant.  So above is the original watercolor, and the image below shows the printed cards in a bag.
Cute Elephant Notecards.  My new favorite
So man, what a big year!  I had a baby in the spring of 2018, had vein surgery on my legs in the summer (with multiple follow-ups), and my closest sister got married in the fall.  My sister had like 9 bridal showers and I went to 6 of them at least, which was so fun, but between parties, doctor appointments related to me and the baby, summer with the kids, an everything, it was a big year for the family.  A lot of my art has gone on the back burner, but here and there I've been able to squeeze in a little project.

I think as a mom it's such hard skill to know when to call it quits, and to know that it's just temporary.  It's all about readjusting for each phase, but then knowing that you'll feel like painting again.  Or you'll feel like going on a trip with your family again!  Or you'll feel like reading a book again someday!  So lately, I've been finding my way back to painting, but am trying to just push enough, but not too much to get burned out.  I'm super excited to already have one commission lined up for 2019.
