Temples for Wedding Gifts

I do these little watercolors for my sister for wedding gifts. Just a little thing.

NC Botanical Flowers and Leaves

I love this series I did.  I already sold half of them and am currently using one of them as a print in my main room.  Those botanicals.  So "in" I've noticed.  I could have done butterflies, but that would have been totally unoriginal. (Can you tell I'm joking.)

But I loved doing real flowers and paintings from North Carolina.  It's so me and so from my roots.  It's special and will always remind me of my time here in NC.  It's like a treasure that I'll keep with me always.

It's funny because you would think that I'd want the original art up in my house, but I'm so happy to just print the watercolor version and sell the originals.  I have so much art floating around that I just don't really care about real art the same way I used to.

Bird from Guatamala

This was a commission from a couple of months ago.  I can't remember this birds' name, but it's special to Guatamalan culture.   The head is probably one of the best parts and took an hour or so of reworking until it looked right.  I should have taken a picture of it in its ugly phase.

Funeral Gift

One wonderful thing I can do with painting is give it as a gift.  I gave this to a woman who lost her husband in our ward.  It was very interesting.  I hope she likes it.

Sunrise

This was just an experiment.  I love doing stuff like this.  Color is so more important to me than form sometimes.  I'm not super interested in exact detail all the time, so stuff like this is fun.

College Drawing Classes

Recently, I've just been getting rid of things.  Sadly, but not sadly, I figured it was time to toss my old drawings from college.  These are great things I learned in 2 drawings classes, but one class was especially great.   I met my friend Miranda Buell in that class!  And now everything is decomposing in the trash somewhere.  It was a good decision.  We live in a society where we just need to get rid of things.  There is too much, and that is really hard.
