Framed art in my house, and some random works in progress

Here are some works that are up and framed in my house.  I have spend a lot of time decorating lately.   I'm working on improving my decorating skills.  Project Runway has taught me to say, "Your proportions are off."

The one on the left will have a home soon. I tried reworking the one on the right, and it didn't work out so well.  I'll have to paint over that entire painting now, but it was a great experience.

Series of three flowers

I did a series of three paintings.  It's almost easier to make a set of three of something for practice, and it saves time.  I can make three of the same thing easier than three different paintings, and still try out different things with each one.  Each of these has a home now.
In the works.  Below is the finished one.
Here is the final of the other two.  I loved playing with the colors her.  As usual, this is a great example of working on the colors in my my paintings.  I created this color scheme and used a flower painting for the inspiration of shapes. I need to do some real still lifes soon.

Here is the final wedding gift (previously posted about this)

Seattle Temple

Seattle LDS Temple

Not to dis the Seattle temple, but it's just one of those temples that isn't that pretty in lots of ways. It doesn't look like a castle, but it looks like a building built in the 70s.  BUT, I actually thought this painting made the temple look really pretty.  I was really pleased with the result.  It was a wedding gift for a client.

Red Roses

Look through all the stuff I've done over the past few months is kind of amazing.  I don't know how  I did it.  I guess I have mostly not done very detailed work.  Just big brush strokes, and still learning a lot.  These flowers are for my sweet Aunt who has cancer.  I think small paintings are nice because you can put them somewhere small, or matt them and put them in a bigger frame.

Here are some other flowers I did based off the same photo.  Just playing around with color using the same shapes.

Boats, boats, boats

I've been doing studies of boats, and working on my color schemes.  These all turned out great!  I was inspired by an artist from pinterest, who has an awesome boat series.  It was a great experience.

This one ended up in my kitchen.  Love it!

Here are the other two finals.  Pretty pleased.

Boy Nursery Art

This anchor rocks!  I did a series of "botanical themed" paintings for a client. I didn't take pictures of everything else.  This was probably my favorite piece.

I did another boat like this in grey-blue

Then I did some "beaches" so she could do calligraphy over these.  I look forward to how they turn out!

Pretty pumpkins

A commission for pumpkin decor.  I was really pleased.  It was inspired by some Pottery Barn plates.
This is actually a print and not the original.  Love printing these out.

Some Yellow flowers, in love!

These are actually different paintings.  I did this painting three times. I sold one, kept one, and gifted on. I love this type of painting, and I love the color scheme.  Right now as I continue to develop my painting skills, I think colors are so crucial to effective and powerful paintings.  You can draw well, and have ugly colors throw it off!

Here is the third one in my kitchen.

Wedding Gift (again)

A girl in my ward is getting married and I made her a little flower painting.  I kind of like it!  Especially with this frame.  Happy marriage!  I love doing flowers. So fun.

Pet portrait

Final.  I was really pleased with it. I'm sure future ones will be better.

My friend's dog was dying, so she commissioned a pet portrait.  I've never done a dog before.  Ever I think.  This cute little guy is sick and will probably die soon, so it's like a gift for them to remember him.
