Bountiful Temple and SLC temples

Temples From the Last Year

Here are a few temples that I painted and didn't put up on my shop.  I just did them for me.

An Idaho temple

The Logan temple. This is one of my favorites!  I love this painting, especially for a kid's room.  It's just sweet and impressionistic.

I think this is an Idaho temple.

NYC temple.

Logan Temple no color (looks cool, like the Manti temple I think)

Christmas Art This Year!

This is a series of paintings to decorate my living room this year.  I thought they were cute.  I painted them while I had the flu over Thanksgiving break. Russell was also tiling our bathroom at the same time. What an exhausting weekend.

Pink Watercolor Flowers From Earlier

I painted these for my bedroom.

Impressionistic Red Roses

This was some practice with color and roses.  I love these.  I was sad to say goodbye to these pretty things.

I practice using two paint colors loaded on my brush while I did a petal.  It was good practice.  So I'd have light pink on one side, and then red on the other side so it had a smoother flow.  I can tell I'm getting better at roses, or at least painting them in acrylics.

Some Abstracts for my Bedroom

These are some abstracts I did for my bedroom.  I had them like this for a while, but they were too dark.  Too green.  A little too much.  So I covered them with a layer of white to add some softness, and now they have this ethereal quality. I really love them every time I look at the finished pieces hanging in my bedroom.

I don't feel like this picture does them justice.  I love the way they look up close.  You couldn't print these.  Just light white over luminous green.

Time to say goodbye to these temples

This little NYC temple is one of my favorite mini temples I've ever done.  It's just super cute.  I love it.  It's probably one of my favorite temple paintings I've ever done.  Another was one of the Raleigh temple.  Anyway, time to say goodbye.

Owls Baby Shower Gift

My friend is obsessed with owls, and wanted owls in her new baby girl's room.  I was inspired by a picture I found, but I pretty much made up the flowers and backgrounds.  I was especially pleased with my roses.  I didn't even look at anything to create shapes.

These aren't like my favorite nursery pieces I've ever done, but great experience for the future. Plus, giving art to someone who loves it brings me pure joy.

Christmas Card in the Works

This is my Christmas card painting that I did.  I was trying to figure out if I wanted to do something that could go on the cover of something folded, but I figured that something I could print on a full page would be great.  It turned out darling and I love my card.  I'm also using this as a decoration in my house for Christmas right now.

Pink watercolor flowers

I did some pink flowers for my room.  It's not like my bedroom looks amazing or anything, but these flowers were a step in the right direction.

Little Landscape

I saw something on pinterest that inspired me, so I just had to try this out.  This was tricky because I printed a picture, and lost a lot of the magic in the printed page.  So basing a painting of a printed painting is not always the best.  This painting confirmed that I must get a big tablet to paint from, so I can paint from digital images, edit them, etc.  (Christmas gift for me!)  Russell is also going to build me a special easel for Christmas to hold my panels better.

I still think this final picture is really pretty.  I was pleased with lots of things about it.  It has a home now.

A lovely landscape

This was a great painting day with my friend Anne.  My next door neighbor actually.  I was really working on my colors as I copied a painting from my phone. It was tough making an image 2X5, into a 9X12. I needed a lot more detail to work with, but it was a great exercise, and I love this style.  This painting now has a lovely home and is in the mail for Christmas.

We painted in Anne's screened porch. There is her painting.
